Flood watch in effect

Rogue River, Ore. — Severe weather is causing headaches across the state.

Tonight a flood watch is in effect for both Jackson and Josephine counties.

It’s been a steady rain and that’s creating rising water in some areas.

A flood watch means there’s a possibility of flooding.

That watch advisory will diminish over Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

But conditions with heavy rain can be dangerous.

The National Weather Service says if you come across a flooded roadway, find an alternate route and turn around.

Landslides and debris flows can be possible during a flood event.

We’ve received reports that Murphy Gulch has a flooded roadway.

If you live near that area, you’ll want to avoid that road.
