Former Oregon Governor criticizes ballot measure IP 28

kitzhaber 2Oregon — Oregon’s former governor John Kitzhaber is criticizing a ballot measure that would raise corporate taxes. Kitzhaber calls on community leaders to find a better way to solve the state’s financial woes than Initiative Petition 28. The ballot measure would raise three-billion dollars a year in new corporate taxes.  IP 28 supporters say the money will go to education, health care, and senior services. In a post on Facebook, Kitzhaber says we can do better than an initiative that was written by pollsters rather than economists and is the product of ballot title shopping.
