Friends of murdered man relieved suspects in custody

Medford, Ore.– The close friends of 27-year-old Isaac De Leon are thankful that two men have been arrested in the fatal shooting of De Leon.

Wednesday Police arrested 25-year-old Shane Zornes from Spokane, Washington and 30-year-old Ruben Marmolejo also from Spokane.

Kari Harris knew De Leon for four years, she said, “It’s bittersweet. It’s not going to bring Isaac back but it, I think, eases a lot of people’s heart for just a minute and to know that he’s in custody and that this part of the battle is over.”

De Leon’s roommate, Julian Devos said, “Just to know that these guys are going to get what’s coming to them..probably the whole town of Medford is happy to know Medford Police was able to get the job done.”

Levi Shepherd who was with De Leon the night of the shooting said, “Can’t thank them enough for what they did. And they’re going to bring them to justice and the lead detective today told me, he said, ’25 to life nothing less than that. I promise you.’ and he shook my hand.”

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for Thursday night on Main and Bartlett at 6:30 p.m.
