GOP candidate for Governor of Oregon calling for more debates

OREGON STATE POLITICSSalem, Ore. — Republican gubernatorial candidate Bud Pierce is calling for more debates with current Governor Kate Brown.

The Salem business owner is asking for six debates, counter to Brown’s request for three televised debates.

Pierce says he thinks six debates are necessary to reach Oregonians in each part of the state. He’s also looking for at least one debate to be televised in Spanish.

Pierce will speak at the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association debate on July 22nd.

Brown has declined the invitation for that event.
