Grant to help Gold Hill children attend preschool

0624 school donationGold Hill, Ore. — Preschoolers from low income families will be able to go to class in Gold Hill thanks to a $10,000 grant.

The Jackson Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Program grant from the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation Board will help 3 to 5 year-olds attend Little Comets Enrichment center.

About 50 families are expected to benefit from the grant.

The program provides informational, emotional and educational support for children and families of young children with developmental disabilities or delays.

Fourteen non-profit organizations located in Jackson County will receive a total of $77,000 in grants from the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians.
