Grants Pass school closing in attempt to stop spread of norovirus

norovirusGrants Pass, Ore. — A Grants Pass school is cancelling classes Friday, after nearly 200 students and staff come down with a suspected norovirus. According to staff at Fleming Middle School, 175 students and a quarter of the staff are out sick with symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea.

Officials are closing the school Friday in an attempt to stop the spread of the bug, and thoroughly sanitize the classrooms. They plan to reopen on Monday morning.
