Head of the FDA to resign

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NBC) – The head of the Food and Drug Administration will resign his post.

Dr. Scott Gottlieb has been FDA commissioner since 2017.

During his time at the FDA, he worked to curtail youth vaping and even threatened to ban e-cigarettes unless manufacturers could come up with ways of keeping their products away from kids.

It’s unclear what will happen to those efforts now that Gottlieb is stepping down. He will be at the FDA for one more month.
