Hellgate’s last weekend of the season

Grants Pass, Ore. — The summer tourist season is coming to an end for Hellgate Jetboat Excursions.

Hellgate said this season was a huge success. That’s far different from last year, when the company saw fewer customers because of the smoke and haze from the Stouts Fire, as well as low water levels. As a result, they had approximately 5,000 more passengers this year.

“It’s better for our community. We have that local impact where people are going to stay in town, spend their money, and of course bring other people back to see us. So for the hotels, the restaurants, the gas stations, the shops. It’s really great when we have a great year,” Travis Hamlyn said, general manager .

The last day for Hellgate Jetboat excursions is Monday. Most meal trips are sold out, however, there are still some scenic trips available.
