One person killed in Highway 140 crash

Update (11/22/16 12:00 p.m.) – Police have identified the driver who was killed as 67-year-old Klamath Falls resident Robert E. Jamison.

Jackson County, Ore. – Oregon State Police troopers responded around 8:10 p.m. on November 21st to a single vehicle crash on Highway 140 31 miles east of Medford.

Troopers said an investigation revealed a pickup truck was traveling westbound on the highway when it slid off the icy roadway, coming to rest in a ditch. The driver and his pregnant wife were not injured in the crash.

According to OSP, two vehicles stopped to help after the crash. That’s when a third vehicle lost control and crashed into the back of one of the good Samaritan’s vehicles, striking several people in the process.

Troopers said four people were injured in the final collision. The driver of the third vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
