Homicide investigation in Josephine County

O’Brien, Ore — According to Oregon State Police, on November 4th, Josephine County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 500 block of Waldo Road in O’Brien after reports of a male who had been shot. Deputies confirmed 25-year-old Jason A. George was dead due to a gunshot wound.

The Josephine County Major Crime Response Team was requested and assumed the investigation which is now lead by the Oregon State Police Major Crime Division.

The suspect or suspects are still outstanding. This is a homicide investigation.

George is from North Carolina but had been living in Cave Junction for the last couple of years.

The Josephine County Major Crimes Team is made up of members from the Oregon State Police Major Crime Division, The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division, The Josephine County District Attorney’s Office and the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office.
