House approves bill to allow Lottery winners to remain anonymous

SALEM, Ore. — The Oregon State Legislature may soon allow lottery winners in the state to remain anonymous.

House Bill 3389 passed 55 to 2 Tuesday. If signed into law, the legislation would protect the identities of certain lottery winners, unless the winners chose to have their name shared.

Nine states already allow winners to remain anonymous.

The bill is having its first reading in the senate Wednesday.
