Inspiring Grants Pass girl last recepient of NBC5’s pasta giveaway

Grants Pass, Ore.–  7-year-old Allison Johnson got quite the tasty Olive Garden  surprise Wednesday, NBC5 was with Jason and Ashley from Q 100.3 when it all happened.
“Hi how are you? Is your mom home?”

Allison said she’s excited not just to eat her pasta dinner but to be back in her Grants Pass home.

“The first thing when I woke up the day we were going to drive home I said, ‘we’re going home!'” said Johnson.

Allison was diagnosed with stage 2 Ewing Sarcoma in November of last year. Since then she had been receiving treatment at St. Judes in Memphis, Tennessee.

“It’s been rough since this time last year us being here them being there that not home,” said dad, Richard Johnson.

But Wednesday they were all back together. Little Allison came home one day before Halloween.

Since October NBC5 and Bicoastal Media have been giving dinners from Olive Garden to people who have been nominated and deserving of them. Johnson and her family are definitely deserving of the last giveaway.

Jason Allen from Q 100.3 said, “Its a family we’ve gotten to know and they’re pretty special to us and the community.”

Richard Johnson said, “never expected it it just happens to be my daughter’s favorite place.”

Allison Johnson’s favorite food in her favorite place to be. “I get to see all my toys, I get to play with all of them, I get to see my papa…I get to see everything,” said Allison.
