Intel CEO resigns after relationship with employee

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Intel CEO Brian Krzanich has resigned after the company found out about a past consensual relationship he had with another employee.

The company announced Krzanich’s resignation Thursday, citing a violation of Intel’s non-fraternization policy, which applies to all managers.

In the wake of Krzanich’s departure, Chief Financial Officer Robert Swan will take over as interim CEO.

Intel stock was down as much as two percent Thursday morning after the announcement.
