Investigators: Fatal Connecticut plane crash “intentional”

nc_ctcrash1012_1500x845East Hartford, Conn. (NBC News) — Investigators say Tuesday’s deadly plane crash in East Hartford, Connecticut was intentional, but so far they’ve found no connections to terrorism.

The plane slammed into a heavily populated area, barely missing cars as they were driving by.

“I heard the engine sputter a little bit and I saw the whole thing coming in, and I just stopped in my car and the whole car just shook,” said witness Frank Crandall.

The student pilot was killed; the flight instructor at his side was badly burned, but was able to pull himself from the wreckage.

The instructor told investigators there was some kind of argument or struggle for the controls, and the plane crashed, but he does not know why it happened.
