ISS crew members return to Earth

0907 SoyuzDzhezkazgan, Kazakhastan (NBC) — NASA astronaut Jeff Williams along with cosmonauts Alexey Ovchinin and Oleg Skripochka Roscosmos, returned home to Earth today on board a Soyuz spacecraft.

The crew landed just southeast of Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhastan.

As the Soyuz was preparing to land, the spacecraft ran into a haze and was unable to be seen. But a screen at the Russian Mission Control Center confirmed the spacecraft landed at 9:13 p.m. eastern time.

Crew members of the Expedition 49 including Commander Anatoly Ivanishin of Roscosmos, NASA astronaut Kate Rubins, and astronaut Takuya Onishi of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency will operate for more than two weeks until the arrival of three new crew members.
