It takes a teacher: Mrs. Spivey

Klamath Falls, Ore.– The power of a good teacher can be priceless.  That’s why for the month of November we will be honoring teachers in our communities who are making a difference.

In Ashley Spivey’s kindergarten class at Peterson Elementary laughs and games jump start learning.

“Creating those opportunities for them to play while learning can be challenging sometimes, but that is the best part of kindergarten.”

With nine years of teaching under her belt , Spivey’s love for her job continues to grow.

When asked what she enjoys most about teaching she says, “I don’t want to cry.  It’s amazing!  The kids are amazing and when you can take a kid who is struggling with something and you see that light bulb go off that excitement is infectious.”

What is also infectious in Spivey’s classroom are giggles, creativity and love.

“My biggest hope for all of my students is to know that they are loved and that they are worth while and that people care about them,” says Spivey.
