Jack Fire nears 20,000 acres, 56% contained

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – Favorable weather has helped crews get a handle on the Jack Fire in Douglas County.

The wildfire was first reported on Monday, July 5 about 30 miles east of Glide. By July 23, the fire covered 19,949 acres.

Favorable weather conditions have allowed crews to contain 56% of the Jack Fire.

Even though 243 structures remain threatened by the Jack Fire, which remains entirely on National Forest land.
