Jackson County boat inspections

White City, Ore., — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office wants to make sure your boat is safe and ready for the water.

While inspections aren’t required to take your boat on the water, the Sheriff’s Office is doing “dry dock” inspections to check all your safety equipment.

Things like life jackets, and making sure the boat’s horn or whistle work are just some of the things that need to pass the test.

“The boats have been put away all winter so we make sure they have life jackets, fire extinguishers, all those important things where if you do get in trouble on the water you’ll be safe.” said Sergeant Shawn Richards.

The Sheriff’s Office is doing the checks Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, as well as next weekend from 10 am to 4 pm at the Marine Patrol Office in White City.

No appointment is required.
