Jackson County man sentenced to 77 months for child sex charges

Medford, Ore.- A Jackson County man will spend more than six years in prison for child sex charges.

Ryan Herbert Trent Williams was sentenced to 77 months Friday after pleading guilty to one county of Using a Child in a Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct and one county of Online Sexual Corruption of a Child.

Williams was indicted on charges in September as a result of his actions from Nov. 5, 2015 to April 25, 2016.

In April, 2016, law enforcement was made aware that Williams had a sexual relationship with the underage victim in the case. The Southern Oregon High-Tech Crimes Task Force gathered digital evidence, including cell phones and computers, that confirmed Williams had been exchanging pictures, videos and messages with the victim.

After learning police were aware of the relationship, Williams took off to Louisiana, where U.S. Marshals took him into custody on Sept. 20, 2016.

After prison, Williams will transition to three years of post-prison supervision.
