Jackson County suicide rates released

0615 phoneJackson County, Ore. — A new report shows Jackson County had more than one suicide each week last year.

The Jackson County Medical Examiner released the statistics as part of his 2015 report. It showed 37 men and 20 women committed suicide last year in the county.

Dwight Holton, CEO of Lines for Life, a non-profit who focuses on preventing substance abuse and suicide, recently sat down for our 5 on 5 feature interview. He said, “There’s always someone available who’s been trained to help understand the challenges of life that make that question surface for folks and to help folks find a way forward, even in really dark times.”
