Jackson gets 12 years for Klamath County shooting

Klamath Falls, Ore. – A Chiloquin man who shot an 84 year old man in the leg in June of 2017 is headed to prison for 12 and a half years.

36 Year old Charles Irwin Jackson pleaded ‘guilty’ Thursday morning to charges of second degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and third degree rape as part of a negotiated settlement.

Jackson shot 84 year old Floyd McCoy in the leg at McCoy’s Modoc Point Road home.

Jackson thought McCoy was harboring his 17 year old girlfriend.

Jackson was arrested 3 months later following an extensive manhunt.

He initially faced multiple charges, including attempted murder and first degree assault.
