Jacksonville City Hall moves into new home

Jacksonville, Ore. —  Jacksonville City Hall moved into their new home on Thursday.

The city has been looking into the old Jackson County Courthouse for several years, and they finally inherited it from the county.
The new office comes with an old history, it was once the original county seat years before it was retired.

The office was up and running yesterday afternoon, and they are more than excited to be in the heart in downtown Jacksonville.

“We’ll start seeing public come back in the building, get to see it again. I can’t say it enough we’re just bringing it back to life again and it is kind of neat,” Jeff Alvis said, Jacksonville City Administrator.

The building is expected to be completed within the couple weeks, but the office is already open for city services.
