Josephine County traffic stop nets big drug bust

Grants Pass, Ore — The smell of marijuana leads to a big drug bust for Oregon state police in Josephine County.

OSP says 28-year-old William Murphy of Grants Pass was pulled over for a license plate violation on Highway 199 near mile post 28 when the trooper smelled marijuana and signs of recent drug use by Murphy.

After searching the vehicle troopers found 8 pounds of packaged marijuana as well as methamphetamine.

Murphy was in Josephine County court today facing charges of unlawful possession and probation violations.
