Gwinnett County, Ga. (WXIA) — A Good Samaritan is in critical condition after being shot during what police are calling a “senseless act” in a Gwinnett County, Georgia parking lot.
Authorities said Thomas Rushworth, 45, saw two couples having a heated argument in the parking lot of the Tavern at Medlock in Peachtree Corners. Police said the Duluth man tried to break up the fight, but ended up being shot in the head.
He was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
After the shots were fired, witnesses told police they saw a man and a woman run away from the scene toward the nearby Country Club Village Apartment Complex.
