Kids Unlimited burglarized

Medford, Ore., — A Medford charter school is out thousands of dollars worth of equipment which benefits children, after an early morning burglary Wednesday morning.

Someone made off with the equipment at the charter’s school office just days before it’s youth basketball tournament. Parents tell us this is really a crime where children are the real victims.

“Just makes me sad that someone would do that.” said Jennifer Ware.

Parents are shaking their heads in disbelief that someone would break in to Kids Unlimited charter school in Medford, and steal equipment, like the 18 Ipads needed for this weekend’s youth basketball tournament and fundraiser for the school.

“You know all the stuff the center has for the kids, it’s for the kids and the community. And now they’re stealing it and it’s not going for anything good.” said Ricardo Esparza.

CEO Tom Cole says the burglar smashed in the office back-window stealing the Ipads and other video and audio equipment.

“When our place gets broken into it’s discouraging to the work that all of us put in and to all the community hours and volunteers as well.” said Cole.

Cole says the tournament will go on this weekend as planned, but that means his staff must work extra hard to try and replace everything.

But one parent has faith.

“The thing about Kids Unlimited is they’re so resilient that this may have happened, but it’s not gonna stop the weekend from happening and they’re able to pick back up.” said Jennifer Ware.

If you have any information on the burglary or have noticed anything suspicious around the area of Kids Unlimited on Wednesday, please call Medford police.
