Klamath Falls burglary caught on video

Klamath Falls, Ore. – A Klamath Falls man is in jail on charges including burglary and theft, after surveillance video led to his identification as a suspect.

The video shows a man kicking in the back door of Filipino Grocery store “MERCY Phil-Am” on Main Street in Klamath Falls.

“Friday morning, like 12 o’clock, the dude broke up into the store,” said store co-owner Talilo Marfil. “Broke the glass out in back, and just messed up the whole store.”

Marfil notes the video shows the suspect was in the store for nearly three hours, while the owners slept upstairs. “And stole a couple things – some pipes and lingerie, and found a pistol and shot through a glass fixture.”

The surveillance video led to the arrest of suspect Gregory Don Holcomb.

Police say they found the handgun, knives, and other suspected stolen items in Holcomb’s possession.

“It would have been bad if anybody came down here when he found that pistol,” Marfil said. “One thing I am grateful for is that he didn’t shoot up, and hit any of my family members.”

Holcomb is charged with theft, burglary, criminal mischief, unlawful use of a weapon, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The store will be closed this week while the owners work to clean up the damage.
