Landline phone outage

1107-phoneUpdate (11/07 6:00 p.m.) — Numerous fire and law enforcement agencies are reporting landline service has been restored. Fire Distric 3 said their landline phones were operational as of 4:30 p.m.

Jackson County, Ore. – Some residents in the Upper Rogue area may not be able to dial other landline phone–including 911–according to Fire District 3.

Officials said on Monday, some residents north of Vilas Road, including White City, Prospect, Lake Creek, Crater Lake, Butte Falls and Eagle Point may be affected.

The Emergency Communication of Southern Oregon is conducting tests to pinpoint the issue. Officials said Century Link has expressed the problem is occurring throughout Oregon and into Washington.

Firefighters said if you have an emergency, call 911 with your cell phone or go to the nearest police or fire station.
