Lava Lanes employees take action

Medford, Ore.,– A local bowling alley manager takes matters into his own hands after finding a suspected thief on the property.

That’s right the manager jumped into action, making a citizens arrest.

35- year-old Jesse Gallego allegedly stole an employee’s car from the parking lot at Lava Lanes back on April 6th.

But last night police say he decided to come back for more…

“Just wanted to contain him, just wanted to make sure he didn’t leave the premises. That was my only mission.” said Elijah Todd

The Lava Lanes manager says he had to do something to stop a man he believed stole one of his employees car.

“Yeah I tackled him, turned him around, made sure he wasn’t going anywhere and didn’t have any weapons on him. I had some help with some other guys.”

The car was stolen three weeks ago, but police but had no luck in identifying the suspect.

“We actually thought it was Jesse Gallego based on the tips we were getting and that he looked real similar to some of the mugshots but we really couldn’t be certain.” said Lt. Mike Budreau.

But when Todd and some other employees recognized Gallego in the bowling alley last night they didn’t wait for police to arrive.

Lt. Budreau says, “They were able to hand cuff him and he was basically all gift wrapped for us when we got here which was nice.”

Gallego is in jail tonight but the car has still not been found.
