Local man named “Statesman of the Year”

Klamath Falls, Ore. – A local medical center is celebrating a special honor for their president and chief executive officer.

Paul Stewart from Sky Lakes Medical Center was  named the Statesman of the Year Monday.

The award honors those with great leadership skills who make great contributions to the community.

Stewart said the recognition was “Incredibly humbling”, and that he felt “Honored, and thrilled.”

Stewart had these thoughts for those working in leadership positions:  “If you want to solve complex problems, you need a lot of people rowing the boat in the same direction.  And leadership is about bringing people together, and empowering them to act, and to make good choices, and provide the resources to help them carry out whatever the mission happens to be.”

Stewart is recognized for his leadership in projects by Sky Lakes to develop public spaces in Klamath Falls as well as  work to designate the area as a “Blue Zone Community.”
