Medford, Ore. — Facebook doesn’t appear to ‘like’ marijuana dispensaries in the Rogue Valley and beyond, and now they’re cracking down.
One marijuana dispensary, Breeze Botanicals, which operates in both Gold Hill and Ashland, recently discovered Facebook had removed their page. Top Shelf Wellness Center in Phoenix also had their page taken down last week by the social media giant, as were many other dispensaries across the country.
Despite marijuana being legal in Oregon, and being legal for medicinal use in 23 states, it’s still illegal at the federal level.
Facebook’s advertising guidelines say ads cannot promote or facilitate the sale or consumption of illegal or recreational drugs.
