Two 12-packs of beer could get a Grants Pass man nearly eight years in prison for a knife point robbery Sunday night at a downtown convenience store.
23 year old Shaun Johnson was arrested just a few blocks from the robbery scene, the Crown Market, on Southeast 8th Street. He was jailed on a charge of first-degree robbery, on an accusation that he threatened a store clerk with a box cutter, and made off with two 12-packs of Heineken beer.
First-degree robbery is a measure 11 charge calling for a mandatory 7 1/2 years in prison, upon conviction. Johnson is currently in the Josephine County Jail.
