Higher education officials now only have one choice on who to vote in as the new University of Oregon president.
Michael Gottfredson was chosen over two other finalists for the position, after it was decided Richard Lariviere’s contract would not be renewed.
Gottfredson is currently vice chancellor and provost at the University of California, Irvine.
The state board of higher education is scheduled to vote on Friday.
Gottfredson will succeed interim president Robert Berdahl on August 1.
