Asante and Ashland Community Hospital: Closer to a Merger

The Ashland Community Hospital and Asante Health System are one step closer to joining forces.

Officials have just announced the two companies hope to have a deal signed before the end of May.

In the deal, the city would hand over ownership of A.C.H.

In exchange, Asante would assume all of the debt and pension requirements from the hospital, and attempt to keep or reposition all of the hospital’s staff.
