Ashland City Council considering commercial marijuana grows

640x360_31211P00-YYYGFAshland, Ore. — In Denver, Colorado all the commercial property was bought for marijuana crops and that’s something an Ashland City Council member say’s they’re open to it happening in their area.

Ashland City Council met for a study session on Monday night.

They say commercial marijuana grows could be a cash cow for the area.

The only problem? That the grow could drain the city’s electricity.

Commercial grows would not be able to keep the lights on during peak electrical times.

City council also discussed a marijuana ordinance that goes up for vote today.

It would amend personal recreational marijuana land use, restricting plants to four per household, each not reaching over 10 feet in height.

That vote is taking place on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
