Ashland City Council To Vote on Chicken Ordinance

The Ashland City council is scheduled to meet Tuesday night, and vote on a number of city ordinances.

Among them, changes on whether to allow chicken coops closer to homes.

Under the current ordinance, they must be 75 feet from a home. A new proposal would drop that to only 20 feet.

Monday– a fire that started in a chicken coop in Ashland– that nearly caught a neighbor’s home on fire. That home was just 30 feet from the coop.

That meeting starts at 6:15.
