Ashland Golf Tournament

The Ashland golf team needs funding, so in stepped senior Jenna Schweizer to help out. Jenna says “For my senior project I’m organizing the golf tournament, it’s important to me because it’s one of the most significant things I’ve done for the school”. Rather than go around asking for donations, Jenna figures this golf tournament gives people a chance to donate money and get something in return.

” Yeah in stead of just handing over a check you can help out and play something you are passionate about and help something we are passionate about.” Her coach Aidan Jones says he isn’t surprised that jenna stepped up to help out. How you conduct yourself on the golf course is a big indicator of how you take on things in life.

” I’ve seen her grow a lot on the golf course, she is very patient golfer, in this sport if you hit a bad shot you have to forget about it and thing about the next shot and she does that very well.” Jenna says she’s not just helping her team , but also reminding people the importance of programs like this. “Yeah golf isn’t the only club activity hurt by the budget cuts…so it would be nice for the community to step up and help out club sports” Just one last worry for the Griz golf tournament, which she knows all to well as southern golfer….that’s the weather.
