Assistant soccer coach accused of sexual abuse

Medford, Ore. — The Medford Police Department says they have arrested an assistant soccer coach at Cascade Christian High School for alleged sexual abuse.

Police say they began the investigation in mid-December when they became aware of an assistant soccer coach involved in an inappropriate relationship with an underage female student. The school was made aware of the allegation and assisted detectives with the investigation.

When detectives took over the investigation they determined the student was a 17 year-old female at Cascade Christian School. The suspect was determined to be 43 year-old assistant girls soccer coach, Mark Winstead.

Police say they met with 43 year old Mark Winstead, Wednesday and after an interview with Winstead he was lodged at the Jackson County Jail for one count of “sex abuse – 3rd degree.”
