Autopsy results released late Tuesday night show that 18 year old Elias Ruiz died as a result of gunshot wounds to the torso.
The autopsy also revealed that Ruiz was wearing a bullet proof vest under his clothing at the time of the incident.
Police say it has not yet been determined if the vest was what caused one of the officer’s tasers to be ineffective.
Until further notice, both officers involved in the shooting are on administrative leave while authorities continue their investigation.
