Baseball game closed off to fans due to Baltimore riot

Baltimore, Md. — Its believed to be a first in Major League Baseball history, a game will be played without any fans in the stands.

Because of the unrest in Baltimore, Wednesday’s game between the Chicago White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles will be closed to the public.

The closed-door contest follows the postponements of Mondays and Tuesdays games against the White Sox until a doubleheader scheduled for May 28th.

The afternoon game will be televised on the main regional cable network.

The Orioles say tickets to the postponed games can be exchanged.

The team also announced it would move three games scheduled for May 1st, 2nd and 3rd against the Tampa Bay Rays to Florida.

The Orioles will still be the home team.
