Bill Proposes State To Manage Timber Harvesting on Railroad Lands

Lawmakers are looking to boost logging here in Oregon as a bill makes it way up the Legislature.

The proposal would allow the state to manage timber harvesting on both Oregon and California railroad lands, also known as O&C lands.

That covers about 2.6 million acres.

The bill will be heard in the House Natural Resources Committee next Thursday.
