Boxed Meth Lab Bust

Boxed meth labs like these contain everything needed to make meth…”Glassware, chemicals, sludge…”

And they’re a rare find in Jackson County these days.

”Last year we had one in the county”.

On wednesday, Jackson County Community Justice, accompanied by Sheriff’s deputies… went to Duggan Road in Sams Valley to find wanted convicted felon Kevin Lyle Cory.

“Good police work by Probation and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office out there, knocked on the door, grabbed the wanted offender and lab, weapons and marijuana as well.”

While the 40-year old is facing multiple charges, it’s the boxed lab that has Lt. Brett Johnson and the Medford Drug and Gang Enforcement Team taking notice.

“Usually our meth arrests these days are from meth produced down south, it’s crystal, it’s a high quality.”

One of the main reasons why there’s less locally-made meth nowadays… the movement of pseudoephedrine behind the counter… making it harder to be a small town meth maker.

Kevin Lyle Cory is currently lodged in Jackson County Jail… his bail is set at $546,000.
