The party has already started in Indianapolis.
Both teams and thousands of fans are already in the city for this weekend’s Super Bowl.
“It’s very very difficult to compare anything to it, whether you’re a rookie or whether you’re a veteran or whether you’ve been in it as long as some of us have. So we are very excited about that,” says Giants head coach Tom Coughlin.
The Patriots made the trip to the midwest late yesterday.
“There is definitely a big buzz around the city, just driving through and everybody is very exciting and very welcoming and everything else so we are just very fortunate, very blessed to be here and so we’re just going to try and live it up this week,” says Patriots wide Receiver Wes Welker.
As the teams go through their final preps and fine-tune their game plan, so is the city of Indianapolis, hosting the big game for the first time.
Frank Hancock’s company created many of the signs and banners that stretch across four square miles to help create Indy’s super bowl image.
“This will basically engulf our whole city and central Indiana. The whole downtown is going to be engaged. It’s like our town will be the event,” the Sports Graphic CEO says.
150,000 or more will pour into the downtown area throughout the week.
It will be fun and games for fans, but a much more serious task for security.
Surveillance cameras cover the Super Bowl village and the area around Lucas Oil Stadium.
Still, for most the focus is on trying to figure out what to do first in this football fantasy land.
