BREAKING: Hiker Falls 1,000 Feet On Mt. Hood

A climber reportedly fell about 1,000 feet shortly after 5 a.m. at the Hogsback portion of the ascent from Timberline Lodge to the summit of Mount Hood.

The climber’s condition is currently notavailable.

Ground rescue crews are expected to bring the climber down, once they are found.

The Hogsback is a portion of the climb close to the summit on a route favored by most climbers.
