Classes back in session at Grants Pass school following suspected norovirus

12.07 MIDDLE SCHOOL REOPENSGrants Pass, Ore. — School is back in session Monday morning for one Grants Pass school after a suspected norovirus shut down the campus.

Fleming Middle School was closed Friday after nearly 200 students and staff came down with the virus. Those who were sick experienced symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. The closure came in an attempt to stop the spread of the bug, and thoroughly sanitize classrooms.

Officials say they also spent the weekend sanitizing Fleming’s two feeder elementary schools, Manzanita and Fort Vannoy as a precaution. Classes are expected to start on time Monday morning.
