Community celebrates life of Karen Greenstein

Ashland, Ore. — Friends, family, co-workers and law enforcement officers from across the Rogue Valleycame together Saturday for one woman who made an impact on so many.

58-year-old Karen Greenstein from Ashland was killed in a wrong way drunk-driver accident two weeks ago. Saturday the people she touched most got together to honor her life at Ashland High school.

“Just a beautiful person that always was giving to other people and cared about other people more then herself,” said Ashland Police Officer, Marcus Williams.

“She was a calm person with a great hair-do, great lady,” said Joelle Graves.

Greenstein served Jackson County as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for 20 years. Her friends saidshe enjoyed reading books, music, traveling .

But most of all adoredher husband Bill, daughter Amanda, and her two dogs.

“I’ll remember Karen most for her smile and her warm personality,” said Williams.

A smile that many said helped make a bad day better and a good day even greater.

The driver that hit Greensteinis Richard Webster Scott. He is still at the hospital in Portland in stable condition.
