COOS BAY, Ore. – A Coos Bay lumber mill is laying off more than 100 people and closing down.
The Oregonian Reports Georgia-Pacific Wood Products notified employees at its Coos Bay Lumber Mill that it’s closing the mill and laying off all of its 111 workers.
The Atlanta-based company told the paper that Asian competition for Oregon logs made it more expensive to supply the coastal mill.
