Crowd gathers in Ashland Plaza to address climate change

CLIMATE RALLY PICAshland, Ore. — A climate change movement being held across the country was supported in Ashland Saturday.

A large crowd gathered in the Plaza at noon today to raise awareness about climate change.

The group is calling on world leaders to take action to reduce CO2 emissions before the United Nations conference on climate change begins in Paris on Monday. Organizers say it’s a cause that shouldn’t be ignored.

“People across the world are concerned about this problem, and wish to see our international, national leaders address the problem,” said SOCAN co-Facilitator Alan Journet

A number of people spoke at the event, including Ashland representative Peter Buckley.

The rally was organized by 350.org, Rogue Climate and Southern Oregon Climate Action Now.
