District Attorney’s Office bombing suspect sentenced to 15 years in prison

Updated (8/18 10:40am)Alan Timothy McVay has been sentenced to 180 months (15 years) in prison.

Update (5/12 2:00pm): Alan Timothy McVay has changed his plea to guilty in court today and his sentencing has been set for August.

Medford, Ore. — The man accused of bombing the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office last November is changing his plea.

Investigators say Alan McVay threw a homemade explosive device at the window of the DA’s office on November 13th.

It broke windows but did little other damage. McVay originally pleaded not guilty but is scheduled to be in federal court Monday to change his plea.

Attorneys declined to answer whether McVay would plead guilty.

Court documents acquired by NBC5 News in December show McVay admitted to the crime.
