Driver airlifted to hospital after being ejected in rollover crash

HWY 238 CRASH PICRuch, Ore. — A man was flown to the hospital, after police said he was ejected from a his vehicle during a rollover crash outside of Ruch.

Around 3 PM Sunday afternoon, Oregon State Police responded to the 6000 block of Highway 238.

Troopers said the car went around a corner and  left the road. The driver then over-corrected, and hit the embankment, before rolling, and coming to a stop on it’s hood.

“[The] report to us was that he was ejected from the car, and then the medical personnel arrived on scene, he was in and out of consciousness, and they life-flighted him to the hospital,” Trooper Adam Walport said.

The extent of his injuries aren’t known. Police said drugs and alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. They also believe the driver may not have been wearing his seat belt. The crash is still under investigation.

Traffic was closed down in both directions for about 45 minutes. The road has since been reopened.
