Eagle Point School District Negotiations

The final countdown…

A struggling school district has one more chance to reach a deal over teacher contracts and at this time, still no deal.

Face to face talks took place between the EPEA and the district instead of having a mediator shuttle proposals between both parties and as of 9:30 Wednesday morning, the two sides are still talking and a final settlement has not been reached.

One of the big items up in the air: union teachers want more time to prepare for classes.

At the same time, district officials are looking to cut down on costs.

District officials say cutting back on staff is not out of the question.

It’s unclear ‘if or when’ an agreement will be made.
